Resume
Psychic disorders developed in the period of gerontogenesis represent an
issue of great practical significance in psychiatry.
In our opinion, the significance of the present
research lies in the fact, that the study of the regularity of the course of
schizophrenia for the whole period of its development will most likely give us
an opportunity to define the near and distant prognoses of the desease with greater precision. On the basis
of the results of the research, we shall be capable of objectively solving all
practically important problems related to the treatment of the desease and its
rehabilitation. Moreover, it is possible to make preliminary conclusions which
specify that continuous paranoidal schizophrenia started at the age of 18-25 is characterised with a much worse
distant prognosis compared to the same desease
started at a later age /25-32 /.
